The research is clear- guided visualizations change your thinking patterns. They excite the mind with new images and better thoughts. By utilizing a 15-minute phone or ZOOM interview, you'll receive a personalized and specific TO YOU recording that Just. Works. Better.
You've done the work and analyzed the reasons behind some bad habits or thoughts that you've picked up. Great, but why doesn't it change everything? Isn't that what the pop-culture tells us- if we can identify why we do something, then it can no longer control us. Right? What's not working?
Think of your mind as a great, vast garden. You've allowed weeds to root in there, giving you bad eating habits, swiping your energy, causing self-doubt and anxiety. And you've figured out why those weeds popped up, so you plucked them out of the garden. But you didn't replace them with better thoughts that will root deeply and restore your garden to its full vibrancy.
That's where guided visualizations, meditations and self-hypnosis come in. They fill the garden with the things you want to realize and don't allow for more weeds to take root.
Guided visualizations take you from "Oh, I see why I do this," to "Woohoo! Here's what's next!"
And everywhere we see 21 day challenges to reset your thinking. But the science says, no. That's not quite right. After three weeks, your brain is USED to a new thought, but it hasn't accepted it as a part of you. Give yourself about 60 days for something to be WHO YOU ARE. This short 15 minutes a day, when used for two months, reshapes the thinking pattern.
BUT . . .
To quote my favorite bookpimp, "You don't have to take my word for it." Just because someone says "all the research shows . . ." doesn't mean you have to believe them. It's very logical to ask "What research?" I'll share just a few things from very recent and important studies connecting this mental practice to physical realities.
Published in 2022 in the European Journal of Plastic Surgery. When stressed-out-to-the-max doctors in training had a day-long workshop on fractured hand repair, they offered guided meditation to one group. (I love when doctors make guinea pigs of themselves.) Stress reports from the different groups 'diverged significantly,' which is research language for "Whoa! Look at that!" The results? The guided meditation was "established in improving stress resilience, relevant to surgeon well-being, performance, and patient care."
No arguments. It worked. Hand surgery training is better served with guided meditations offered as part of the training.
Published in 2021 in the Journal of Physiotherapy Theory and Practice. Doctors successfully used guided meditations as part of the therapy to successfully help an amputee patient reclaim balance and mobility while also decreasing pain. Anyone who thinks doctors aren't onboard with how the mind can help create physical changes is simply wrong. IT IS BEING USED, TODAY.
